Privacy Policy

What we collect
CookinCity is a read-only recipe site. We do not require accounts, we do not ask for personal information, and we do not store form submissions on our own servers.
- Analytics: We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (Plausible) to count pageviews in aggregate. No individual visitor is identified.
- Local storage: Your browser stores your favorite-recipe list and your theme preference (light/dark) locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser.
- Contact form: If you send a message through the Contact page, the form provider (Formspree) processes it and emails it to us. Their privacy policy applies to form transit.
What we do with it
Aggregated analytics inform what's popular on the site. Nothing else. We don't sell data, we don't run retargeting ads, and we don't profile individual visitors.
Third parties
- Cloudflare delivers site assets (including images) and sees the standard HTTP request metadata (IP, user-agent) that any CDN does.
- Plausible records aggregate pageview events without cookies or persistent identifiers.
- Formspree processes contact messages when you send them.
- Social share buttons (Pinterest, Facebook, X, WhatsApp, email) are plain HTML links. No tracking script runs when the page loads — those platforms only see you if you click.
- Amazon Associates: some outbound product links are affiliate links. See Affiliate Disclosure.
Your rights
You can clear favorites and theme state by clearing your browser's local storage for this site. You can opt out of Plausible at your browser level via Do Not Track (we respect it) or by blocking the plausible.io domain.
Children
CookinCity isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We'll update this policy when something actually changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
